INSPIRATION

Inspired by surfing travels to La Réunion Island in the Indian Ocean, the fragrance captures volcanic terrain as solar humidity settles over the landscape.

SENSORY EXPERIENCE

SIGNAL Clean and dirty - simultaneously. Côte d'Azur cypress and blue hemp cut through salty marine air - sharp, green, immediate. The citrus brightness reads as clarity, but something underneath resists it. Freshness meets rawness. The signal destabilizes.

JOURNEY The trip deepens. French hay introduces a dry, sun-warmed calm—brief, almost convincing. Then the structure shifts. Saffron and chocolat noir rise with heat and density, pulling the composition darker. Cumin pushes through - warm, bodily, slightly off-center. What felt clean becomes charged. The contrast sharpens.

GROUND You land somewhere honest. Vetiver Bourbon anchors the structure—rooted, mineral, steady. Patchouli expands beneath it - earthy, resinous, slightly feral. The composition fuses into skin. Not clean. Not dirty. Both—held in tension, indefinitely.

when to wear

When you want to feel both grounded and energized at once. Perfect for the middle of the day, when your focus starts to drift and you need something to reset your senses and bring you back into your body.

RITUAL

Apply in a sweeping gesture across the body, or mist into the palm and press into skin.

Condensed in the Solid Parfum form, it becomes a portable aromatic trip - an expression of contrast compressed to fit in your hand.

"THE PERFUMER PAID HER DUES IN THE BEAUTY INDUSTRY FOR OVER THREE DECADES; NOW SHE'S REWRITING LUXURY FRAGRANCE STANDARDS WITH HER OWN LABEL."

"WITH SO MUCH HISTORY TO BACK UP DIR AND HER INAUGURAL SOLO PERFUME DROP, TEAM COVETEUR CAN CONFIDENTLY PREDICT THAT GAMINE WILL QUICKLY BECOME THE NEXT CULT FAVORITE FRAGRANCE BRAND—MARK OUR WORDS."

Coyeteur logo

“WHAT I'VE CHOSEN TO DISRUPT IS THE IDEA OF HARMONY AS COMFORT. I WORK WITH CONFLICTING RAW MATERIALS AND MOLECULES TO CREATE AN UNEXPECTED TENSION AT THE HEART OF EACH COMPOSITION, ONE THAT DEMANDS PRESENCE AND INVITES ENGAGEMENT.”

"AVAILABLE IN THREE SCENTS, GAMINE COMES IN A COLLECTION OF EAU DE PARFUM "BRICKS," THAT COMBINE CUSTOM-DESIGNED ECO-RUBBER AND WEIGHTED GLASS WHILE "TRANSIT" TAKES A PAGE OUT OF THE EDC PLAYBOOK WITH A TOOL-LIKE CARRIER THAT CAN STORE THEIR SOLID FRAGRANCES."

NEW FRAGRANCE BRAND GAMINE OFFERS THEIR THREE SCENTS IN TWO FORMATS: BRICKS, TRADITIONAL EDPS THAT EMBODY THE BRAND’S STRUCTURAL VISION, AND TRANSITS, SOLID PERFUMES THAT COME WITH WEARABLE CARRIERS. IT IS ALL VERY COOL, AS ARE THE SCENTS THEMSELVES.

THE FIRST THING MELANIE DIR EVER UNDERSTOOD ABOUT FRAGRANCE WAS THAT IT WASN’T BEAUTIFUL. NOT IN THE SOFT, FLORIST-WINDOW WAY THE INDUSTRY WOULD HAVE YOU BELIEVE. SHE WAS STILL LEARNING TO WALK, AND THE RAW MATERIALS THAT SURROUNDED HER IN HER FATHER’S LABORATORY WERE STRANGE AND SLIGHTLY FRIGHTENING.

HERE'S AN EVENING SCENT THAT PUTS YOU AT EASE IMMEDIATELY WITH WARM, SUBTLY MASCULINE NOTES. THE LOVELY NOTES HERE INCLUDE INTENSE NUTMEG AND PLUM, WHICH UNFOLD WITH BEAUTIFUL DEPTH AS THE NIGHT CARRIES ON.
